March 14th (3.14) is National Pi Day and is a super good excuse to make and consume delicious pies. There are many excellent pies out there that you can make to celebrate Pi Day this March 14th!
Chocolate Chess Pie
This pie makes it to the top of this list. Give it a double dose of cocoa and lots of graham crackers for the crust. This is a combination of pure decadent magic. This is sweet, gooey goodness at its very best. Don’t forget the butter since this is its secret weapon. To make this pie, you will need white sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, melted butter, eggs, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and graham crackers.
Individual Peach Pies
Only slightly less awesome are these little and very easy to make treats. Peaches are the best for these guys, but you can easily opt to use another fruit for these cute little pies. The benefit of making small pies like this is that it is simple to make a whole bunch at one time. To make individual peach pies, you will need sugar, tapioca, ground cinnamon, grated orange peel, salt, ground cloves, unsweetened sliced peaches, a pie pastry, an egg, and sugar.
This is actually a favorite of many people for a good reason. However, unfortunately, many also assume it’s a Thanksgiving Day only pie. Work to break that mold and introduce this excellent pie to other days of the year. Pi Day is a great place to start! To make this pie, you will need canned pumpkin, sugar, salt, egg yolks, half-and-half, melted butter, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, pie dough, and whipped cream.
Finally, there are few things as luxuriant and conducive to socialization as a good blueberry pie. To make this pie you will need flour, salt, shortening, water, sugar, ground cinnamon, blueberries, lemon juice, and butter.
