Valentine’s Day Milkshake
What better way to start off this list than with a refreshing milkshake?
You’ll need: 2 cups of strawberry ice cream, 1 cup of milk, 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam, 2 ounce of cherry wine
Step 1: Blend all of these ingredients together well until the milkshake has reached the desired consistency. (Feel free to add more milk if necessary).
Step 2: Serve the sweet treat in a glass and top it with whipped cream. Serve and enjoy.
A rich, chocolately treat is definitely a Valentine’s Day necessity. Luckily, you can whip up this sweet chocolate pudding in a flash!
You’ll need: 1 bar of bittersweet chocolate, 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla extract, 1 3/4 cups of milk, 3/4 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of cocoa, 3 egg yolks, 3 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish.
Step 1: Combine the chocolate, vanilla extract, and butter in a bowl. Set aside.
Step 2: Heat the milk in a medium saucepan until it begins to simmer.
Step 3: In a bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa, salt, and cornstarch together. In an electric mixing bowl, beat the egg yolks on medium speed for about 1 minute. Then, add the dry sugar mixture and continue mixing on low speed until it is well combined. (The mixture will resemble wet sand).
Step 4: Take 1/2 of the hot milk and add it to the mixture. Continue whisking in the mixing bowl until well blended.
Step 5: Transfer this cocoa mix to the saucepan with the remaining hot milk. Cook for about 8 minutes on medium heat, whisking continuously.
Step 6: Strain this mixture into the previously prepared bowl of chocolate. Let it sit and settle for a few minutes (about 3 minutes). Then, stir with a wooden spoon until the pudding is smooth.
Step 7: Take a sheet of plastic wrap and cover the bowl, pressing it all the way down to the surface of the pudding. Then, chill for about 2 hours. Serve and enjoy.
Cherries Dipped in White Chocolate
Set the mood with this simple, romantic treat. What better dessert for this holiday than cherries in chocolate?
You’ll need: Lots of cherries, 1 package of white cooking chocolate, 1 packet of silver sugar pearls.
Step 1: Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Step 2: Melt the white chocolate in a bowl. (Placing it in the microwave works fine). This shouldn’t take long, so be sure to watch the chocolate carefully so that it doesn’t burn.
Step 3: Once the chocolate is melted, dip the cherries in it a few times until it is well-coated. Then, place them onto the baking tray. With the chocolate still wet, sprinkle sugar pearls on top of each one.
Step 4: Place the dipped cherries into the fridge until the chocolate has hardened. Serve and enjoy.
